HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Hope College will honor men’s basketball players from the 1980’s during Saturday’s game against Kalamazoo College at DeVos Fieldhouse.
More than 50 players will be recognized at the halftime ceremony. The 1980’s started a run of success for the Flying Dutchmen. Glenn Van Wieren was head coach which had Hope ending a 13-year drought of MIAA titles with a run of five consecutive league championships, beginning in the 1980-81 season. The Flying Dutchmen won a total of 178 games and seven MIAA titles during the decade.
Tip-off is 3 p.m. and tickets for the game are available in advance at the Hope College Ticket office or at DeVos Fieldhouse beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday. Single game reserved seating is $10 with adult bleacher general seating at $7 and under 18 bleacher general seating is $5.
