POLKTON TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 16-year-old Ravenna resident was injured in a snowmobile accident yesterday in Polkton Towpship of Ottawa County while riding with others on their own snowmobiles in a field in the 5700 block of Roosevelt Street.
According to Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, the 16-year old lost control of his snowmobile after hitting a large amount of dirt or ice in the field. This caused the snowmobile to overturn and for the driver to be ejected. He was the only occupant on the snowmobile.

The incident remains under investigation and alcohol was not a factor in the crash.
