ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) – A 33-year-old Allegan County man will be sentenced to at least 55 years in prison on February 29th for the murder of his girlfriend and her two children, one of whom was his son.
Corey LaValley entered no contest pleas yesterday to three second-degree murder charges. He shot and killed 33-year-old Debra Sheppard, 12-year-old Emma McComber and ten-year-old Corey LaValley, Jr. last March, and then set their home on fire.
The Michigan Office of Children’s Ombudsman is still investigating the claims that the Department of Health and Human Services didn’t follow up on reports of abuse before the triple murder in Allegan County. Chief investigator Tobin Mills says Child Protective Services was involved at the home of Emma mcComber and Corey LaValley Jr. in the past two years
LaValley claims to have no memory of killing the three.
