GRAND HAVEN, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Circuit Court Judge Ed Post announced that he would not seek reelection to a fifth six-year term in 2016. The 64-year-old chief jurist said that he was following in the footsteps of his wife Barb, who retired last month from the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, and wanted to give anyone who wishes to replace him time to mount a ballot campaign. During his 24 years on the bench, Post has heard a number of high-profile criminal and civil cases, including presiding over the 2007 trial of six persons that were eventually convicted in the 1979 murder of Hope College coed Janet Chandler.
