HOLLAND (WHTC) — Holland police officers are investigating a fatal single-car crash discovered New Year’s Day morning.
Edward Sedell-Shaquille Isom, 23, of Holland was traveling in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix southbound on Waverly road south of 24th Street at a high rate of speed when his vehicle left the roadway. It rolled multiple times before striking a tree. Isom was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead on the scene from multiple injuries.
Waverly was closed for a time and then limited to one lane of traffic in each direction for several hours for the safety of crash scene reconstructionists.
An autopsy is planned to determine a specific cause of death and whether other factors were involved, police said.
Police now hope to hear from people who may help add details to the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact Holland Department of Public Safety at (616) 355-1100 or email detectives at policetips@cityofholland.com.
