LANSING MI (WHTC) – A Michigan State Police report says about three-quarters of the people convicted in 2014 for drunk and drugged driving in west Michigan were men.
That’s according to MSP’s annual drunk driving audit. The number was a bit higher in Van Buren County at 79 percent. The low end, 72 percent in Ottawa County. They also say there were just over five impaired driving convictions per 1,000 drivers in the state.
West Michigan marks did not stray all that far from the average, but it was it was Ottawa County, once again, with the lowest ratio and Van Buren County with the highest. Overall, statewide impaired driving numbers are down 35 percent since 2005.
