HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – As a result of yesterday’s ice storm, over 17-thousand Consumers Energy customers in West Michigan had their power cut off.
In Ottawa County more than 61-hundred were without power while 42-hundred in Allegan County lost their service. In the city of Holland, Holland Board of Public Works worked overnight to restore power.
Between Kent and Muskegon counties, nearly five-thousand were in the dark yesterday and overnight. Ottawa County was the hardest hit in West Michigan.
Downed power lines can be deadly. Stay at least 25 feet away from downed power lines and anything a downed line might be touching and to immediately call 9-1-1 and Consumers Energy at 1-800-477-5050.
