ALLEGAN, MI (WHTC) — Allegan County Sheriff’s Office has arrested the driver suspected of causing a Dec. 16 fatal Hopkins Township crash near the intersection of 130th Avenue and 22nd street.
The crash killed 58-year-old John Jerome Dolegowski, at the wheel of a pickup truck. He wasn’t wearing his seatbelt. The impact ejected him from the truck.
The driver’s name will be released after her arraignment, currently set for 3:30 p.m. on Jan. 11, police said. The driver is expected to be charged with causing a death while operating a vehicle on a suspended license. The charge carries a penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
Police are also asking the prosecutor’s office to charge the vehicle’s owner for causing a death by knowingly allowing a driver with a suspended license to use the car.
