WASHINGTON (WHTC) – The first round of nominations by members of Michigan’s Congressional Delegation to the service academies this academic year was issued by Senator Debbie Stabenow. The Lansing Democrat gave her endorsement to 53 students statewide, including Holland Christian’s Scott Nieboer for West Point. Any high school senior seeking admission into the US Military, Naval, Air Force or Merchant Marine academies must first be nominated by a member of Congress or the Vice President before officials of those schools will even consider whether or not to let them in. More nominations are forthcoming.
