PARK TWP, MI (WHTC) – Alcohol and speed are believed to be a factor in a single-vehicle crash that has left a 20-year-old Holland man in serious but stable condition.
According to Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Waukazoo Drive and Oak Hampton Drive in the overnight hours to a one car personal injury crash. Investigation shows that the driver whose name is being withheld, was driving a 1993 Honda Accord southbound at a high rate of speed when he failed to negotiate a turn. The Accord went off the southside of the intersection and struck a large tree.
The suspect who was the only occupant in the vehicle was pinned in his vehicle for 30 minutes before he was extricated by the Park Township Fire Department.
The suspect was transported to Holland Community Hospital and the crash remains under investigation.
