ALLENDALE TWP, MI (WHTC) – A suspect is in custody for a string of home invasions in Allendale Township.
According to Sgt. Brian Buter of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, deputies were dispatched to an attempted home invasion that had just occurred in Allendale Township at 4533 Lake Michigan Drive yesterday afternoon.
A description of the suspect was broadcast and a responding deputy found the suspect in the general area and took him into custody. During the investigation, the sheriff’s office found the suspect to be in possession of additional stolen property. The victims of that home invasion live at 4657 Lake Michigan Drive and reported the second home invasion while the deputies were still processing the first.
During the investigation it was discovered that the male subject who lives in the Allendale area was responsible for at least five home invasions in the past week. The suspects name will be released after his arraignment.
The victims names have not been released and the incident remains under investigation.
