BATTLE CREEK, MI (WHTC) – The employees of Consumers Energy contributed $5,000 from the company’s foundation to two United Way agencies, as well as donated several grants to various nonprofit organizations around the state. The employees who earned the honor of selecting the nonprofits eligible for the grants were winners of the Consumers Energy companywide Ethics in Action awards.
During an awards ceremony in Battle Creek, those employees presented a $2,500 check to both the Capital Area United Way and the United Way of Jackson County. Also, $1,000 and $250 grants were also given out to other local nonprofits from employees who work at Consumer Energy Facilities in Jackson, Grand Rapids, Ottawa County, Midland, Saginaw and Livonia.
