HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Nancy DeBoer hosts her first Annual Holiday Open House as Holland Mayor this evening. From 5 PM through 6:30 PM, she and other Council members, along with city staffers, will be on hand in Chambers at Holland City Hall to meet with constituents in an informal setting ahead of the Sinterklaas Parade. Light refreshments will be served, and there should be some holiday-themed entertainment on hand.
The third and final Christmas-themed evening parade in the Holland-Zeeland area this week is tonight with the Sinterklaas Parade. Beginning at 7 PM at the Dutch Kerstmarkt outside of the Holland Civic Center, the promenade will head east on 8th Street to Centennial Park, featuring Dutch customs, including the Netherlands’ version of Santa, Sinterklaas, riding a horse. A Christmas tree at the park will be lit, and cookies will be served to all attendees. On Monday, there was a lighted parade in Zeeland, with Holland’s Parade of Lights held the following evening.
