Lakeshore Continues to Lead the Way in Michigan with Low Unemployment

LANSING, MI (WHTC) – Unemployment along the Lakeshore continues to be the lowest in the state. In October numbers released by the Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget, Ottawa County leads the way with a jobless rate of three percent even, with Allegan County fourth at 3.3 percent. Compared to September, Ottawa County remained steady while Allegan County went up a tenth of a percentage point; a year ago, those figures were at 4.1 and 4.3 percent, respectively. Department officials say that, statewide, regional unemployment rates showed little movement in October.
