HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Holland City Council will be talking about M-40 at tonight’s regular meeting. The city is working on a property exchange with Michigan’s Department of Transportation as part of a road safety project near the Tulip City Truck Stop.
Holland City Council will review a property agreement with Michigan’s Department of Transportation tonight. The new intersection is now open to traffic. MDOT expects to finish the work by spring.
The state agreed to reconfigure the road after a 2013 crash killed Hamilton High School teacher Joshua Hoppe of Zeeland. That followed a community outcry after a 2007 crash on the same of stretch of road killed three members of a Holland family.
City Council meets at 7 p.m. today at City Hall.
