ZEELAND, MI (WHTC) – Following tonight’s holiday festivities in downtown Zeeland, the Zeeland City Council holds a special 7 PM meeting at City Hall. The session is mainly to consider recommendations from the city’s Alcohol Ordinance Committee for changes centering on the food-to-alcohol ratio for licensees, currently at 60 percent food, along with allowing take-out sales for specialty food stores and micro-breweries/brewpubs, exempting walk-in coolers from display restrictions, increasing the area for allowing alcohol sales, and allowing alcohol at city-sponsored events. No final action is slated tonight.
