HOLLAND TWP., MI (WHTC) – The United Way thermometers across Ottawa County gauging the success of the annual fundraising drive will be at the two-fifths mark for the Thanksgiving weekend. Officials of the Greater Ottawa County United Way say that the campaign has reached the 40 percent plateau towards a goal of 2.5 million dollars, with completed workplace campaigns and individual donations closing in on the one million-dollar mark. Nearly 200 companies and organizations are running United Way campaigns this season, and the agency is also striving for eight thousand volunteers. The effort ends in late March.
