HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – If you’re interested in what happens to Holland’s Civic Center, make time tonight. You can tour the Civic Center with the committee in charge of suggesting changes.
The Civic Center Steering Committee, made up of elected officials, business owners, farmers and chamber of commerce folks, are charged with figuring out a smart renovation plan.
The Civic Center is more than 50 years old and some city officials wanted to tear it down and start from scratch. Others want to preserve history and renovate it.
The tour starts at the Civic Center at 7 p.m. and includes trips to see the roof, the rafters and the basement.
After the tour, the committee will hear a project schedule update and talk about what’s important to the stakeholders — that includes business owners, city officials, farmers markets participants and Holland residents.
The committee will figure out best ways to notify the public about future meetings and create a long-term vision for the idea Civic Center renovation.
