HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Two high schools along the lakeshore are headed to Ford Field to compete for a State Title and security will be tighter than normal according to the Michigan High School Athletic Association.
Division 4 Champions Zeeland West will play Friday night against Flint Powers Catholic at 7:30 p.m. and you can hear the game here on 1450 WHTC. Division 8 champs Muskegon Catholic Central will take on Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes at 10 a.m.
Parking will be available in Ford Field facilities and lots to the east and north of the stadium and will cost $6. A map identifying the designated Ford Field lot and parking deck can be found on the football page of the MHSAA website. There will also be a number of privately-operated parking facilities close to Ford Field.
Fan are advised that tailgating, including the setting up and use of grilling equipment, and the consumption of alcohol, is prohibited in Ford Field parking facilities.
Gates A, B and G will be available for public entrance during the event. Ticket sales will begin near Gates A and G at 8 a.m. and both schools are also selling them ahead of time. They are $10 and allow fans to watch all four games in a single day.
Security measures also will be in place to assure spectator safety. Fans will be subject to a visual search and Ford Field personnel reserve the right to request patrons open their coats, bags and other item-carrying vessels for visual inspection.
