Accused Holland Robber’s Case Transferred to Federal Courts

GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – The criminal case against a 60-year-old Holland man accused of robbery in the 16^th Street-Waverly Road neighborhood where he lived has now moved to the federal court system. That’s because Cornelius Cook-Bey was indicted at US District Court on armed bank robbery charges stemming from a holdup of a Macatawa Bank branch on September 14^th. The feds are also accusing him for interference with commerce by robbery due to an incident four days later at the Meijer store across 16^th Street from the bank. A total of over 37 hundred dollars taken in the two incidents was reportedly recovered at his home. Cook-Bey remains held in the Ottawa County Jail on 100 thousand dollars bond.
