HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The area snow plows are ready to roll.
The Ottawa County Road Commission sent representatives from Coopersville, Grand Haven, Hudsonville, and North Holland garages to compete in the 2015 Snowplow Roadeo at the City of Grand Rapids Public Services Department earlier this month.
The Roadeo was a competition of obstacle courses designed to simulate actual snow plowing driving operations with drivers being timed and scored for accuracy, safety and speed.
The team of Gerald Van Houten and John Gappa representing the Coopersville garage finished in 4th place overall out of 60 teams.
Those competing shared tips, tricks and went over what works and what doesn’t, as well as seeing the latest equipment from the vendors.
