PRINCETON, NJ (WHTC) – Ottawa County was tops in Michigan and Allegan County 13th in the sixth annual nationwide State Health Gaps Report compiled by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin’s Population Health Institute. The canvas took into account 30 factors that contribute to how long and how well people live. Both Lakeshore counties placed low in physical environment, in part because of air pollutants that are mainly coming across from Lake Michigan, along with a lack of practical and affordable mass transportation alternatives to cut down on solo commutes.
