WRIGHT TWP., MI (WHTC) – The case involving a burned-out vehicle with a body inside found overnight along I-96 near Marne is now being investigated as a homicide. Evidence pointed to the remains of a 37-year-old woman who was apparently killed in Grand Rapids and was driven to the 22-mile marker west of 8th Avenue, where passerby spotted the blazing car around 2:30 AM. A 45-year-old Grand Rapids man found walking a couple of miles away along M-11 Ironwood Avenue was picked up in connection with the matter, with Grand Rapids police now taking over the investigation. No names were immediately disclosed.
