ALLENDALE, MI (WHTC) – A 44-year-old former office staffer at Grand Valley State University is free on three thousand dollars bond following an arrest and arraignment on felony embezzlement charges. Lynnea MacGeorge had been in the Athletic and Recreation Facilities Management Department for seven years before resigning in June, about the same time that campus police begun an investigation into a loss of between 50 and 100 thousand dollars from department funds. The case went to the Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office last month with charges filed this week. MacGeorge’s preliminary hearing is on November 19th, and she could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
