WRIGHT TWP, MI (WHTC) – A man who fell asleep at the wheel struck a utility pole in Wright Township yesterday evening.
According to Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sherrif’s Office, Pablo Ugarte 21, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin was injured in the crash. His vehicle was eastbound on Cleveland near and 16th Avenue when he lost control, spun around and struck the pole.
Ugarte who was wearing his seatbelt was transported to Spectrum Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
He was cited for careless driving.
