Big Read Holland Program Kicks Off Tonight

HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – The community-wide Big Read Holland Area program coordinated through Hope College kicks off its three-week-long effort this evening during a celebration and lecture on the Holland school’s campus. Reading awareness events for teenagers and adults will be at a variety of locations through November 19^th. The program will focus on the 1990 book “The Things They Carried,” written by Tim O’Brien, which follows an army platoon through the jungles of Vietnam through a collection of short stories.
