OLIVE TOWNSHIP (WHTC) – A 73-year-old Holland man is in serious condition at Holland Hospital after a two-car crash on southbound U.S. 31 in Olive Township. Joseph Wilson was injured in the crash shortly after 5 p.m. Friday at U.S. 31 and Bagley Street. Sergeant J. Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department says Wilson was stopped on eastbound Bagley at U.S. 31 and then pulled out into the path of a southbound pickup truck driven by 57-year-old Thomas Lutz of Holland. The resulting crash sent both vehicles off the road. Wilson was pinned in his car and had to be freed by Olive Township Fire Rescue. Lutz was not hurt, neither was a 51-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Wilson vehicle. Alcohol has been ruled out as a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
