NUNICA, MI (WHTC) – If weather conditions permit, the two-lane M-231 roadway connecting Nunica with Robinson Township with Ottawa County’s fourth crossing of the Grand River should open about 4 PM on Friday. MDOT officials say that crews are applying necessary finishing touches, including weather-sensitive pavement marking, to the seven-mile long route that took four years to build but more than two decades to plan due to larger ideas for a freeway that never panned out. A ribbon-cutting ceremony involving several dignitaries is slated for Friday morning at the north bank of the Grand River.
