HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – A sentence of between six and 15 years in prison was handed down today to Richard Rish. The 47-year-old Holland man didn’t contest drunken driving causing death charges stemming from the May 23rd crash on I-196 near the 32nd Avenue exit that killed 64-year-old Bernand Langmeyer of Deerfield and injured his wife. The Langmeyer car was parked along the shoulder waiting for a tow truck to repair a flat tire when it was plowed into by Rish’s SUV. Rish had a 16-citation traffic record and also a criminal past that was apparently taken into consideration by Circuit Court Judge Jon Hulsing.
