HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An appeals attorney told the Holland Sentinel that her client, 51-year-old Ryan Wyngarden, will take his case to the state Supreme Court. He was convicted of first-degree murder last year in the 1987 deaths of his sister Gail and her husband Rick at the couple’s Park Township home. Wyngarden contends that detectives coerced his wife to testify against him and that a defense witness should have been allowed to testify on that claim. The state Court of Appeals found no trial errors warranting a reversal of the convictions. A ruling by the High Court should come early next year.
