KALAMAZOO, MI (WHTC) – A Holland man convicted in Illinois 18 years ago of murder and attempted murder is in custody on federal gun and drug charges.
Prosecutors say that Public Safety officers seized firearms that were in the vehicle of Harold Shields Junior during a traffic stop a month ago, and about two weeks later, after being freed on bond, he was again pulled over, with more weapons, along with crack and heroin, seized.
A search warrant of his apartment unit found ammo and paperwork that is believed to have been involved with the seized drugs.
Shields has a detention hearing on Friday in Grand Rapids.
