WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) – A problem since the new Ottawa County Courthouse opened six years ago may be addressed soon. The Planning and Policy Committee of the Ottawa County Board recommended that the full board next Tuesday retain Owens-Ames-Kimball to replace the steps of the courthouse at a total cost of around 96 thousand dollars. The courthouse steps are uneven, and efforts to repair them were hampered by a built-in snowmelt system that isn’t working properly as a result of the bad steps. The county’s insurance carrier will pay the bill, and the project should be complete by late next month.
