HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Those working near or driving by the Holland BPW’s Wastewater Treatment Plant may have to hold their noses for a little while today. Staffers at the River Avenue facility say that the odor control system was shut down voluntarily around 9 AM today so that contractors could make additional, necessary changes to the system as part of the plant’s optimization project. They have assured residents that they “will do everything within reason to mitigate odor during this time.” There was no timetable given as to when the system would be turned on again.
