HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Fire Prevention Week is October 4-10, 2015 and this year’s theme is “Hear the Beep, When you Sleep.”
The key message of this year’s Fire Prevention Week campaign is to install smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each separate sleeping area, and on every level of your home, including the basement. Larger homes may need more alarms.
The 33rd Annual Fire Truck Parade is this Friday starting at 7 p.m. in Holland. The parade will begin at 8th Street and Columbia Avenue, and continue west on 8th Street to 9th Street and eventually end at the Kollen Park Fire Station. Fire trucks will then be on display and safety demonstrations will be given at the Kollen Park Fire Station.
Parade Route: Trucks will line up on 6th Street, as in years past. Due to construction, trucks will face west and parade will start at 8th Street and College Avenue. Parade ends at the Holland Civic Center, 150 West 8th Street.
