HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) – Both of the long-time voices of Hope College football have been silenced within seven weeks of each other.
Doug Wentworth, who was more associated with Calvin College basketball but who also called the gridiron Flying Dutchmen on WFUR-FM from 1985 through 2010, passed away on Saturday evening at the age of 79. His funeral is on Thursday afternoon at the VanderLaan Funeral Home in his hometown of Hudsonville.
Mr. Wentworth was preceded in death by Ron Wetherbee, the WHTC/WYVN voice through last fall who passed away on July 31st at the age of 78.
