ST. IGNACE, MI (WHTC) The Michigan Department of Natural Resources has confirmed that a gray wolf is roaming the Lower Peninsula. This is only the second time in 115 years that a gray wolf has been seen.
The Little Traverse Bay Band of Odawa Indians has been tracking the animal since March of 2014 and confirmed they found tracks and scat in Emmet County.
DNA analysis by Trent University in Ontario, confirms it was from a male gray wolf whose genetics closely match genetic information taken from wolves in northeast Ontario.
