HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – An unnamed 59-year-old Holland man is in custody stemming from a morning robbery of the Meijer store off of Waverly Road. The suspect walked up to the customer service desk around 9 AM, presented a note implying that he was armed, and pedaled away with an undisclosed amount of money. He was tracked down and arrested at a residence about three blocks away. Nobody in the store was hurt. The black male apparently matched the description of one who held up a bank and a convenience store nearby in similar circumstances, although detectives have not yet made a definitive connection with this and other incidents. Charges are pending as the case remains open, and tips to Silent Observer are welcome.
