HOLLAND, MI (WHTC) – Police in Holland are looking for a robbery suspect who fled on a bicycle from Macatawa Bank on Monday morning.
At 9:12 a.m. Holland Police were dispatched to the Macatawa Bank branch at 699 E. 16th Street. Responding units arrived within three minutes and quickly established a perimeter around the area of the bank in an attempt to apprehend the suspect. An on duty K-9 team from the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office was used to attempt a track of the suspect who fled northbound from the bank on a bicycle. A search of the area did not locate the suspect.
The suspect had entered the bank and presented a note to one of the tellers demanding money implying that he had a weapon. No weapon was seen and nobody was injured during the incident.
The suspect is being described as a black male, thin build, approximately six feet tall, wearing a dark grey hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans with a design on the pocket, and sunglasses. The suspect was last seen fleeing northbound on a bicycle on Waverly Road.
Police are asking anyone who may have been traveling through the area that may have seen the suspect fleeing or suspicious behavior prior to the incident to contact detectives.
