HUDSONVILLE, MI (WHTC) – A driver destroyed several mailboxes and a power line after an accident in Hudsonville early Saturday morning. Gabriel Gordon, a 19-year-old resident of Hudsonville was travelling west-bound on Perry St. near 36th Ave. in Jamestown Township when he drifted off the road and hit several mailboxes and a power line before coming to stop in a private driveway.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to the scene at 3:03 am, where they found Gordon’s crashed vehicle. Gordon had suffered minor injuries in the accident and was transported to Zeeland Community Hospital. An investigation into the crash found that Gordon was severely fatigued while driving and fell asleep at the wheel. Alcohol was deemed not a factor in the accident.
