GRAND HAVEN TWP, MI (WHTC) – Ottawa County Deputies were dispatched to a two vehicle injury accident in Grand Haven Township on SB US-31 and Rich street yesterday evening.
According to Sgt. Matt Wilfong of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department, both of the cars were traveling southbound on US-31 when a vehicle abruptly stopped in fronT of the two vehicles.
Amy Hamilton, 45 of Kalamazoo, driving a 2005 Toyota 4Runner, was able to stop in time to avoid a collision. Brittany Gemison, 22 of Ludington in a 2004 Pontiac Grand AM, was driving behind Hamilton and was unable to stop in time to avoid the collision rear-ending the Toyota.
Gemison was transported to North Ottawa Community Hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Hamilton did not receive any injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.
Responding agencies were the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department Road Patrol, North Ottawa Community Ambulance and Grand Haven Township Fire Rescue.
