Ottawa Co. Sheriff’s Jail Guard Sentenced for Super Drunk Driving in Muskegon

MUSKEGON, MI (WHTC) – Nine months of probation and 875 dollars in fines and fees were the sentence handed down to Dennis Smith of Muskegon. The 42-year-old Ottawa County Sheriff’s Department corrections officer pled guilty to super drunken driving charges stemming from being pulled over on May 1^st in Muskegon. He could have received up to six months in jail. Smith also faces an internal disciplinary hearing on Thursday before Sheriff Gary Rosema and Undersheriff Steve Kempker.
