LAKETOWN TWP., MI (WHTC) – A 72-year-old Holland woman was involved in a two-vehicle crash last night between Saugatuck and Holland that killed a 69-year-old Titusville, Florida woman. Hermina Overway was eastbound on 138th Avenue when she drove through a stop sign at 64th Street. Her car was broadsided by a pickup truck and flipped over in a ditch. Passenger Nancy Russell died at the scene, while Overway was extricated by rescue workers and taken to Spectrum-Butterworth Hospital with serious injuries. A 59-year-old Saugatuck man driving the pickup truck, along with a 32-year-old male passenger, also from Saugatuck, suffered bumps and bruises in the crash, which remains under investigation.
