GEORGETOWN TWP, MI (WHTC) – A two vehicle accident at the intersection of Barry Street and 22nd in Georgetown Township sent four people to the hospital yesterday afternoon.
Christine Ceynowa, 35, of Hudsonville was eastbound on Barry Street in a 2001 Dodge Caravan when after failing to stop at the stop sign, hit a vehicle driven by Michael Kelly, 30, of Hudsonville who was northbound on 22nd Avenue.
According to Sgt. Brian Buter with the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Ceynowa pulled out in front of Kelly and a T-bone type of crash occured. The vehicles ended up in the cornfield in the northeast corner of the intersection. Members of the Georgetown Fire Rescue has to respond with their jaws of life for extrication for several of the occupants of Ceynowa’s vehicle.
Ceynowa was driving her two children both of Hudsonville, Amber Sanders, 14 who was the front seat passenger and John Sanders 13, who was in the rear seat when the accident occured. There was heavy intrusion to the front passenger side of the van and Amber Sanders was severely injured.
Amber Sanders is in serious condition and her brother John Sanders is listed in stable condition at Helen Devos Childrens Hospital.
Christine Ceynowa and Michael Kelly are listed in serious condition at Spectrum Hospital in Grand Rapids.
All four were wearing their seatbelts.
