TALLMADGE TWP, MI ( WHTC) – A 5-year-old girl from Marne is in serious condition after being struck by a motorcycle yesterday evening.
Ryann Sather was hit when she was walking across Eighth Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle, 53-year-old Bryan Hornick of Grandville, saw Sather, but was unable to avoid colliding with her.
According to Sgt. Kristie Wendt of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, Hornick was on his motorcycle northbound on 8th Avenue south of Lake Michigan Drive when Sather went to cross the road from east to west. Hornick saw her run into the road but could not avoid a collision with her. The front of the motorcycle struck her.
Sather was transported to DeVos Children’s Hospital with critical head and neck injuries. She is listed in serious condition. Hornick was uninjured.
The crash remains under investigation.
