OLIVE TWP, MI (WHTC) – A 41-year-old man was treated for serious injuries at Spectrum Butterworth Hospital after his place crash landed.
Ottawa County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 9700 block of Stanton Street in Olive Township yesterday evening when the Olive Township man flying the ultralight airplane, was returning to his residence. According to Sgt. Jay Douglas of the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office, as the pilot was approaching his residence to land, he clipped a tree with the landing gear. This caused the plane to fall 25 feet to the ground.
The pilot whose name has not yet been released was the only occupant of the aircraft.
The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and the FAA are investigating the crash.
