HOLLAND (WHTC) – Holland fire officials are investigating an early-morning fire at home near the downtown area. Firefighters responded to a call shortly before 1:30 a.m. Friday at 193 West 9th Street. They found heavy smoke coming from the structure when they arrived, as well as a working fire in a first-floor bedroom that extended into a second-floor area above. It took crews about 45 minutes to put the flames out. A woman escaped from the home safely. The home sustained heat and smoke damage throughout. Damage is estimated at about $75,000.
