CLYDE TWP., MI (WHTC) – An 18-year-old Fennville man perished just after midnight in a single-vehicle crash near the Valley/Clyde township line. Cody Lee Valentine’s SUV was speeding westbound on 116th Avenue and had passed 48th Street when it failed to negotiate a curve in a heavily-wooded area, veered left, struck a tree and rolled into a ditch, landing on its side. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An unnamed 16-year-old Pullman area girl who was a passenger walked to a nearby home and called for help. She was treated for minor injuries at Holland Hospital. Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputies don’t believe at this point that alcohol or drugs were involved as the crash remains under investigation.
