WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) – According to Ottawa County Treasurer Brad Slagh, county courts paid out more than a million dollars last year in fines from criminal violations and civil infractions to local libraries. It’s up almost 130 thousand dollars from last year’s total, with Herrick District Library getting the largest share at over 320 thousand dollars, while the Howard Miller Library receives 87 thousand. The ratio is based on the total population served by the nine public libraries and library districts in the county.
