WEST OLIVE, MI (WHTC) – During this morning’s meeting of the Ottawa County Board’s Health and Human Services Committee, members looked over a draft of the Ottawa Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition’s Five-Year Strategic Plan. It’s based on the county’s 2013 Youth Assessment Survey that showed almost one in five students used alcohol, one in 10 reported binge drinking, one in eight used marijuana, one in 9 had misused prescription drugs at least once, and substance abuse is beginning as early as age 14.
