GRAND RAPIDS, MI (WHTC) – A trial date has been set for Robin Root, 52 who confessed to the killing of Janna Kelly, left her body in the trunk of a car for days and then dumped it in a vacant field.
The trial is slated to start November 2nd just a month shy of the eighth anniversary of her slaying. The case will go before Judge George Buth and 12 jurors.
Root’s defense attorney wants the judge to exclude portions of the alleged confession and will argue for that on September 11.
Root confessed to the killing during a six and a half interview in April.
